A beautiful high Alpine Lake, that you can hike around. It’s such a delight is beautiful, white sugar, sand beaches, and so unexpected. The water was really cool so they were a few people in swimming and a couple kayakers – the setting with the mountains in the background was sublime. when we were there, there was plenty of parking and all the locations and well worth the stop.
Beautiful area to enjoy a hike. Lots of trails to explore and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Parking was easy on the day we went with few people around. Be sure to stop and enjoy while on your drive.
Tenaya Lake is about an hour’s drive from Yosemite Valley and it’s completely worth the trip. It’s this super quiet spot that feels like it’s on the edge of the wilderness. Just a heads up though, they do close the road to the lake during winter
I love this place. Very quiet and romantic.
Such a gorgeous lake. Wonderful to be there and see the beauty of nature. Easy to access too. You’re allowed to swim in it. The parking is by the gravel near the entrance area. The parking spots by the shore are for campers. They’ll ask you to move your car if you park in the parking spots that are numbered. The worker there was nice though. We enjoyed the lake but it was really cold!
The Tioga Road goes right along the beautiful alpine granite rimmed Tenaya Lake with crystal clear water.
clear lake. really beautiful scenery. dont forget to bring mosquito spray.
One of the most beautiful lakes inside the Yosemite National park. It can be accessed by traveling along Tioga road which is open only for a few months in a year from late summer to mid-fall. It’s surrounded by characteristic granite mountains of Yosemite. There are lots of beach sections which provide access to the lake. The water was at perfect temperature to dip our feet.
